Be a debutant at the Amsterdamsch Galabal
The unique ambiance of De Duif on the Prinsengracht. Filled with ball guests in their best prom attire. A string orchestra. The Fächer Polonaise as you walk up. Followed by a waltz by Johann Strauss. You and your dance partner perform the opening dance together with the rest of the debutants and the audience enjoys it. A magical moment. Does that sound good? Then read on.
What do we offer?

What do we expect from you?
- You are under the age of 30.
- You preferably have some experience in Viennese Waltz (no prerequisite).
- You have a dance partner (can be of the same sex). If you really can’t find a dance partner, please reach out to us (contact info below).
- You have the right clothing, so white tie or long ball dress.
- The ball dress should be Amsterdam red (no exceptions).
- For those who want to rent a white tie: participants of the opening dance will receive a 10 euro discount at RokkostuumHurenAmsterdam.nl stating Debutant Amsterdamsch Galabal.
- You are available for four training sessions in Amsterdam (Frans Otten Stadion) on Sunday afternoons from 2-5 PM in the weeks before the ball. The dates are: October 18, October 25, November 1 and November 8 (all 2026).
- You need to be available from 3:30 p.m. on the day of the ball (November 14, 2026).
What does it cost?
The fee for debutants is 65 Euros if you apply before July 1st. After that date the price is 75 Euros. The deadline for application is September 1st 2026. The price includes a complete package: four professional dance lessons, access to the ball, a meal at 6 p.m. on the day of the ball, two consumption vouchers and a photo of you and your dance partner taken by our ball photographer.
